“Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming,
but who can stand before jealousy?”

-Proverbs 27:4 [NIV]

A Time to Think… “The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves.” -William Penn

A Time to Act… Today, ask yourself what jealousy means to you. Have you taken hold of it way too many times? Do the flames of jealousy make you angry and hurt? Are you troubled? Remember this about jealousy: With selfish, sinful jealousy, we are the beneficiaries of our covetous thoughts. We are the recipients of imagined admiration, wealth, or blessing. But with godly jealousy God is the recipient of our desire.

A Time to Pray… Almighty God help me to release a covetous jealousy that only hurts me and others. Jealousy has ruined so many lives and I need your strength to keep jealousy out of both my mind and my mouth. Instill in me a desire for you that gives me more love to share you with others. AMEN.
