Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

-Isaiah 58:I NIV

A Time to Think… “To ease another’s heartache is to forget one’s own . ”―Abraham Lincoln

A Time to Act… As you face this new day, ask yourself, “what makes my heart ache—and why?” Perhaps God is speaking to your heart because he has something for you to do to help another whose heart is sad and breaking. We do well to support one another with the spirit of strength and peace.

A Time to Pray… O Lord, why is it so easy to dismiss the person begging on the corner, or the pictures of little children who have no food, or other sad things we do not want to encounter? We need a focus from you and you alone, that we may see the hurt and be courageous to help. You have given us so many gifts and talents to help ease another’s heartache and I ask the Holy Spirit to push me to using them for the good of all your children. I pray this in the name of Jesus who has saved my soul, AMEN.
