Cyndy Warnier, On The Road Chaplain

Cyndy Warnier has worn many hats in her life, paramedic, dental hygiene, music/worship, author, itinerant photographer, and a chaplaincy for Hospice,  National & State Parks. Retired in 2020 after 13 years at Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center, she and husband, Al of 49 years, are full-time RV’ers. From mid-April to mid-October they work as camp hosts for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and the beautiful Riana Campground on Lake Abiquiu in northern New Mexico. Then back to warm-winters in New River, Arizona! All this provides Cyndy with outdoor chaplain ministry, photography adventures, and her favorite thing, being with people and making new friends.

In her spare time, she continues to create retreats for all kinds of folks, Adult VBS programs, limited hospice chaplaincy, plus her photography which she integrates into her ministry and also hand-crafted 5×7 greeting cards with stunning photography which you can purchase right here on her website. Photography is her passion and a favorite she shares was from a recent trip to Creede, CO, which led to over 1,000+ photos—150 of them had a moose as the subject. “Why so many pics of a moose?” The answer is best given in the words of the great photographer, Ansel Adams, “When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”

Cyndy loves teaching and reaching people with the love of God and love for one another which includes all of Creation! From online devotions to photography nature walks, photography hand-crafted cards, a weekly Bible group class, or in a retreat setting, you’ll find encouragement, inspiration, and a love for living in the abundance of God’s grace. Join a retreat to experience a lively time of discussion and exploration where you can share experiences with one another—all topped off with worship and song and, of course, much laughter and fellowship!

No matter your connection, Cyndy’s purpose is to connect you with the God who loves you, the Christ who redeems you, and the Holy Spirit who lives and works in your heart every day. Her hope for all of God’s creation is a return to care and compassion for one another and trying our best to live out the words of the Apostle Paul:

“Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”

“Hump Day”
Devotions!

Wednesday has been called “Hump Day” since, well, here’s the story! In 1945, John Steinbeck’s novel Sweet Thursday, the titular day is preceded by “Lousy Wednesday” and somehow it got turned to Wednesday being informally referred to as “Hump Day” in North America. It was a reference to the fact that Wednesday is the middle day—or “hump”—of a typical work week and starting on Monday it was an “uphill climb” …

Weekend Musings by Cyndy

Each weekend I share some musings on all kinds of things, from theology to ecology, to what’s going on in the world and how we can respond and live in our culture as followers of Jesus without going batty! These are free. Just click the subscribe button below to sign-up. They are sent out every Friday late, 9pm or so. I welcome your input, too, and anything you’d like me to share on my blog about a musing that caught your attention in a special way.

Monday & Friday
Uplift!

I am a lover of quotes, and I store them like crazy. Good thing I have a computer or I’d be living in my RV with dozens of boxes of quotes! Every Monday morning and Friday morning I send out a short quote with Scripture and a prayer. I send a quote along with Scripture, a thought and prayer to give inspiration for your day. These are free, sign up with the subscription button below, and, I love and welcome your feedback.

Photography

I am no pro, but photography has been my hobby-love for over 20+ years, and I go nowhere without my big-boy Sony, an A2000 mirrorless with 61MPX, that makes me look good because it’s so smart! I love sharing my pictures so you’ll see that in any of the choices above and all over my little website.

My pictures are copyrighted by me. I am glad to share a picture if it is for personal use only. I just shared a variety of desert animal pictures with a young student who is interested in becoming a wildlife veterinarian! If I can encourage with photography that’s a win-win in my book.

“On the Road” Blog by Cyndy Warnier

As my husband, Al, and also my twin sister, (Emily who lives with us after a devastating car wreck) head down the road toward our next campsite, I will put things up on my blog, including photos, encounters with creation, people, etc., to share. This is our second year of 6-month camp hosting and it doesn’t take long to “write a novel” with all the wonderful people we interact with, and the creatures that roam the forest and the deserts of the Southwest. They may not be daily, but check-in now and then to see what crazy things can happen in “camp-host” life!

A Chaplain For All!

I love being able share the love of Christ with others. As a chaplain, we experience so much when you’re out camping! I’m always available for those who knock on my RV door and need a prayer or words of encouragement. Chaplains listen—it’s our main job! My intention for the website is to have availability for spiritual help. I am on the road, so am limited in physically reaching out, but my prayers and heart are always there to encourage someone in need. If you have a prayer request, or are looking for a devotional book, Bible, etc., and not sure what is out there—and there is a LOT of stuff out there, I can share some of my favorites that I’ve taught with and recommend.

God has put it on my heart to use my outdoor ministry and this website to help people reconnect with God and find daily inspiration and encouragement for their daily faith walk. My prayer is that this website will be a help to those looking for inspiration and encouragement on their daily faith walk.

My buttons for feedback/comments and prayer needs/praises are there for you. Here are the no-breakable rules for any communication and I appreciate that you follow them with all your heart.

  1. NO politics.
  2. NO foul language.
  3. NO pictures or videos.
  4. NO slander or insult of anything or any person.
  5. NO theology debating or denomination bashing.

Thanks for understanding. I don’t want my website to be degraded like so many of the other social media sites. This is a place of prayer and discovery of God’s love and direction for our lives. Let’s keep it that way for you and me!
