“When the right time arrived,
God sent His Son into this world,
born of a woman, subject to the law,
to free those who, just like Him, were subject to the law.
Ultimately He wanted us all to be adopted as sons and daughters.”

-Galatians 4:4-5 [Voice]

A Time to Think…
“So God throws open the door of this world — and enters as a baby. As the most vulnerable imaginable. Because He wants unimaginable intimacy with you. What religion ever had a god that wanted such intimacy with us that He came with such vulnerability to us? What God ever came so tender we could touch Him? So fragile that we could break Him? So vulnerable that His bare, beating heart could be hurt? Only the One who loves you to death.” -Ann Voskamp

A Time to Act…
We live in times of vulnerability and often unimaginable sorrow, violence and hatred. Think about this—it’s exactly the time when God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth! Jesus “gets us” because Jesus lived with what we lived in those times and today. Let the intimacy of Jesus’ love and care for you be the pinnacle of your Christmas this year.

A Time to Pray…
O God, your timing in sending Jesus seems so upside-down, yet there He came, amidst so much persecution, determined to set us free. That is the outcome of the Baby in the Manger and the Christ on the Cross. This Christmas may I ponder on that and think of the walk my Savior traveled: from a feeding trough to a cross. O Jesus, thank you for your incredible gift and your grace and love for me, AMEN.
