“Years and years ago, Isaiah, a prophet of Israel,
foretold the story of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus:
A virgin will conceive and bear a Son,
and His name will be Immanuel which is a
Hebrew name that means “God with us.”

-Matthew 1: 22-23 [Voice]

A Time to Think…
“God is here. This truth should fill our lives, and every Christmas should be for us a new and special meeting with God, when we allow his light and grace to enter deep into our soul.” -Josemaŕia Escrivá, Catholic priest; founded Opus Dei, an organization of men and women laypeople and priests sharing the teaching that all people are called to holiness by God

A Time to Act…
What would it mean for you to have a “new and special meeting with God” this Advent/Christmas season? Father Escrivá who wrote the quote above also urged not just his Catholic people but all people to realize that all the ways of the earth can be an opportunity to meet Christ. Don’t just wait for the baby in the manger this season, start now to meet Christ daily in prayer and conversation and share Christ with others.

A Time to Pray…
O Lord, open my eyes to see those around me who are hurting, who have left their faith, those whose souls are empty and crying. The Messiah came for all people. Bring me close to you, my Jesus and Savior, may our meetings together revive my soul and give me the courage to share who You are to all I come in contact with. AMEN.
