“But I have prayed for you.
I have prayed that your faith will hold firm
and that you will recover from your failure and
become a source of strength for your brothers here.”
-Luke 22:32 [Voice]

A Time to Think… “Failures are finger posts on the road to achievement.” ―C.S. Lewis

A Time to Act… When we think we’ve screwed up, a great minder is Jesus’ prayer for his wayward disciple, Peter (Simon). Jesus prays for us the same way, that we will recover from our failures. In Jesus we have a source of strength for ourselves and others. If you wake up today thinking of only failure, stop it—look in the mirror and see the face of Christ smiling for you, his dearly beloved child.

A Time to Pray… O Jesus, my Savior and Redeemer, like Peter, I too have failed you. I can stand in line with my hammer and nail that put you on that cross on Good Friday. But I know that you don’t want me to live there. Help me put my hammer down and release my hold on anger and failure, knowing that your death and resurrection has forgiven my sins and given me hope now and the joy of eternity with you, Amen.
