“If my people who are called by my name
humble themselves, and pray and seek my face
and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven and will
forgive their sin and heal their land.”
-2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV

A Time to Think… “May we think of freedom not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right.” ―Peter Marshall, Presbyterian Pastor & Chaplain of the United States Senate

A Time to Act… On this day of celebrating our country, may we be reminded that the freedom we have does NOT come from a country, but from a beloved God. No country in the world can exist without God, for only in God will they find the wisdom to govern, they fortitude to persevere, and the freedom to live as equals with one another. Knowing this gives us a joy to celebrate our lives in the U.S.A.

A Time to Pray… O God of all, we thank you for the opportunity we have to live in such a great country. So many do not have the freedoms that we have and many live in fear and intimidation. Help us to reach out and share the good news of a loving God who wants all his children to live in freedom and peace. We have many problems here, too, and God we pray that you bring us back to living what is right and not wrong. Holy Spirit instill in us a renewed heart, soul and mind, that we may stand on truth, live with compassion and care for others, and live out our faith in all that we think, say and do, Amen.
