“For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all.
And this great love is demonstrated when a
person sacrifices his life for his friends.”

-John 15:13 [TPT]

A Time to Think… “I believe our flag is more than just cloth and ink. It is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty, and freedom. It is the history of our nation, and it’s marked by the blood of those who died defending it.” John Thune, U.S. Senator (South Dakota)

A Time to Act… On this Memorial Day, take the time to thank God for the heroes who fought for freedom here in American and abroad. These men and women were willing to die for that freedom and many did die, thus our solemn prayers for Memorial Day. Look around you and be thankful for the freedoms we have because of these incredible heroes. Pray for their families as well. Each of us must be part of a “great nation” that cares for those who fought to keep it safe and free.

A Time to Pray… Almighty God, today we remember the men and women who now live with you in heaven because they fought to keep people safe all around the world. We are humbled by their actions that cut their lives short. May their sacrifice remind us of the preciousness of life and the freedom to live it. Shed your blessings on their families and together, may we find a path of peace instead of war. In your strength and power, we ask this, AMEN.
