Then the woman left her water jar and went back to town. She said to the people, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did. Do you think he might be the Christ?” So the people left the town and went to see Jesus.

A Time to Think … “When we encounter Jesus, we drop the stuff that used to give us a sense of security.” ― Christine Caine, author, pastor, founder of A21: Abolishing Human Trafficking

A Time to Act …Think of the Samaritan women at the well…her water jar was her source, her provision, what gave her the means to live. But she left it because she encountered the real “means to live—Jesus!” Make Jesus your priority every day and drop what is unnecessary.

A Time to Pray …O Lord, there are times I’ve lost my testimony because I’m so busy embracing the world’s priorities and ideas of sufficiency. Infuse me again with the excitement of the woman at the well when she met Jesus. Ignite my faith that I may speak of the only important thing we all need—Jesus! AMEN.
