“I often think of the heavens your hands have made,
and of the moon and stars you put in place.
Then I ask, “Why do you care about us humans?
Why are you concerned for us weaklings?”
You made us a little lower than you yourself,
and you have crowned us with glory and honor.

You let us rule everything your hands have made.
And you put all of it under our power—
the sheep and the cattle and every wild animal,
the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea and all ocean creatures.”
-Psalm 8:3-8 [CEV]

A Time to Think… Each of us, made in God’s image and likeness, is yet another promise God has made to the universe that He will continue to love it and care for it. –Brennan Manning, priest, speaker and author of The Ragamuffin Gospel & All Is Grace (1934-2013)

A Time to Act… When was the last time you arose to stunning sunrise or had your breath taken away by a gorgeous sunset? If you can’t remember, you’ve lost your wonder and you need to get it back! Act now—get outside in God’s universe and celebrate the creation God made for you as much as God made you to live in it!

A Time to Pray… O God of the heavens and earth, I still contemplate what it is like to be made in your image. I may not always get what it means but I know that it is your love and only you can do such miracles. Help me to keep my eyes, my mind and my heart open to the wonders you have for me every day, because taking all that in gives me joy, a peace of mind, and a reason to celebrate amidst this crazy world I live in. In you, O God, I have hope and I am so thankful, AMEN.
