“Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices;
together they shout for joy.
When the LORD returns to Zion,
they will see it with their own eyes.”
-Isaiah 52:8

A Time to Think… “The season of Advent means there is something on the horizon the likes of which we have never seen before…what is possible is to not see it, to miss it, to turn just as it brushes past you. And you begin to grasp what it was you missed, like Moses in the cleft of the rock, watching God’s [back] fade in the distance. So stay. Sit. Linger. Tarry. Ponder. Wait. Behold. Wonder. There will be time enough for running. For rushing. For worrying. For pushing. For now, stay. Wait. Something is on the horizon.” ―Jan Richardson, artist, writer, ordained minister in the United Methodist Church

 A Time to Act… We love adventure and perhaps thinking about this Advent season could lead us on a new adventure right up to Christmas! How can you break the mold we all get in this season and find the “God-adventure of Christmas”? Start in prayer first, and the Lord will fill you with a new delight and joy for the season.

 A Time to Pray… O Lord, I need to get out of my holiday rut. Every year I try something new and hope that it will be a better Christmas, but it isn’t my job to make a better Christmas because you have already fulfilled all of that. I don’t need to add anything on there, I just need to lift up my voice and shout for joy because You, my Savior, have given me all that I need, AMEN.
