“So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.” -1 Peter 5:6-7 MSG
A Time to Think… “Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.” -John Quincy Adams, served as the sixth U.S. President and one of the country’s greatest Secretaries of State, as well as his fierce fight against slavery.
A Time to Act… Think about a recent situation where you reacted out of hurt, frustration, or fear. Bring that experience to Jesus in prayer. Like John Quincy Adams, be bold to step out for those who are hurting—God will be with you to do the right thing and to give you all that you need to help.
A Time to Pray… Dear Jesus, my Savior and Good shepherd, I thank you for caring for me when I am hurt, disappointed or overwhelmed. I ask that you give me a gentle spirit, a patient heart and the wisdom to trust your guidance in my life, Amen.
