“Jesus and his followers were in a very busy place. There were so many people that he and his followers did not even have time to eat. He said to them, “Come with me. We will go to a quiet place to be alone. There we will get some rest.” -Mark 6:31 [ERV]

A Time to Think…
“Humans may be social beings, but solitude has been shown to have great societal value. Jesus was a great healer and teacher, but he took time to rest and pray. Solitude is essential for our spiritual experience–it is where we hear the still, small voice.” -Lucille Zimmerman, Christian writer, teacher, Professional Counselor Advocate for self-care

A Time to Act…
What kind of a schedule do you have each day? Is it hurried, is it exhausting, and even worse, debilitating to your heart, mind and soul? This world can burn us out pretty quickly. So, when you arise today, think of your day as a channel for God’s blessings instead of the chaos around you. In God’s blessings you can pray and get some rest.

A Time to Pray…
O Jesus, I need to get away from the rat-race to find a time to quiet myself, to get rid of the constant busy-ness that exhausts me. Help me keep close to You today and every day. Because whatever strength I possess on my own is weak, but with your strength will always get me through. AMEN.
