“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” -John 15:13 [NLT]

A Time to Think…
“No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.” -James Allen, British philosophical writer known for his inspirational books and poetry (1864-1912)

A Time to Act…
Yesterday was our Independence Day celebration. The fireworks, songs, flags and so much more are a part of our American living, yet freedom is not always available for everyone. In these days of struggles, anger, daily shootings, etc., let us continue to celebrate our freedom for all people. Let us take in the love God has given us so we can share that love with others. Without God’s love, there is no freedom—a reminder we must never forget.

A Time to Pray…
O Lord, we are so blessed in this country for all you have given us. Yet, we are divided by color, ethnicity, gender, politics, money and so much more. This country is a gift from you but we often think it’s all just for us. Please forgive us for such selfishness and help us to be those who will love in every circumstance, even to lay down our life for another. We cannot do this alone; we need your strength and wisdom. Hear our prayers, O Lord, AMEN.
