“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” -Ephesians 3:17 [NLT]

A Time to Think…
“God must really love trees–the world is full of them and so is the Bible from the garden of Eden to the Cross where Jesus died to Bible stories about Zacchaeus climbing a tree to the symbolism of faith as the size of a mustard seed.” -Jean Wise, founder of Healthy Spirituality and freelance writer, speaker, retreat leader and spiritual director

A Time to Act…
Trees are symbolic of so much of our spirituality:  Being deeply rooted in God.  Anchored in His love, we sway in the winds of change and storms of life. Jesus tells us that a tree is recognized by its fruit and a good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. We are very much like trees. People recognize us by the fruit we produce. So, on this Arbor Day, may your life be like a good tree producing good fruit to touch the lives of others.

A Time to Pray…
O Lord, You are the Tree of Life that serves as the image for the whole universe. Help me to have good fruit that encourages my life so I can encourage others. Keep me “deep rooted” in You, my Savior, so all may days until I am face-to-face with you in eternity, will be days of joy, grace, mercy, forgiveness and love. AMEN!
