“For you have experienced the extravagant grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he was infinitely rich, he impoverished himself for our sake, so that by his poverty, we become rich beyond measure.” -2 Corinthians 8:9 TPT

A Time to Think…
“Advent: the time to listen for footsteps–you can’t hear footsteps when you’re running yourself.” -Bill McKibben-American environmentalist, author, journalist, devotion writer

A Time to Act…
In 5 days Christmas will be with us. Are you running yourself to try to make it extravagant, a polished day with all the trappings? How can you hear the Savior when your running drowns His footsteps? Jesus wants us to stop and listening for him and embrace all that he is, not what our society wants him to be.

A Time to Pray…

O Jesus, hold me back and set me down in your presence. Speak to me with your love, joy and hope that is more important than all the trappings we have made for Christmas. Hold me tight that I may feel you throughout my whole body, soul, mind and heart. It is then when I can move the fog and my constant running and be quiet with you, my precious Savior, AMEN.
