“They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing. You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you’re named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.” -1 Peter 2:24-25 [Message]

A Time to Think…
“Good Friday has a somber feeling to me. I know that Jesus rose again and Sunday’s coming. But there’s something important in reflecting. Something valuable to remembering. And Good Friday is very, very good. But the cross is somber. And reflecting on it often takes me quiet and thoughtful places. Points of need for death and surrender and healing, redemption and freedom and salvation. Points of remembering altars, and listening of the next need for the cross in my life. For the joy set before Him. Endured. What joy? For me and you. Death defeated.

Sin broken —Lives made whole.
Souls made whole—Bodies made whole.
Minds made whole—Spirits made alive.
Saved as the joy—the joy in Jesus’ gaze.
The anchor of His endurance.
Me…I consider that so I don’t grow weary and lose heart.
That’s what Good Friday means to me.

watching The Passion movie and it has changed her life forever

A Time to Pray…
Today I kneel in silent adoration of You, my God. I sit quietly, beholding the great mystery of our faith. I behold God’s Son, beaten, bruised, mocked, tortured and killed. But in this act, I see all grace and mercy flowing from Your wounded heart. Bathe the world in Your mercy, dear Lord. Cover us with Your grace and draw us to new life through Your death. I love You, dear Lord, I love You with all my heart. Jesus, I trust in You for my life forever. AMEN.
