“How wonderful it is to see someone coming over the hills to tell good news. How wonderful to hear him announce, “There is peace! We have been saved!” and to hear him say to Zion, “Your God is the king! Rejoice because the Lord has comforted his people…”  -Isaiah 52:7, 9a [NLT]

A Time to Act…
“Advent: the time to listen for footsteps – you can’t hear footsteps when you’re running yourself.”  -Bill McKibben, environmentalist, author, journalist, Methodist deacon

A Time to Think…
It’s mid-time for Christmas. Will you be running around all day trying to get more stuff? We are like the hamster who constantly runs on his wheel and doesn’t get anywhere. What do you want to accomplish this day? Stop and rejoice, like Isaiah said. Put away your racing. Take a deep breath and then listen to the steps of Jesus so you can walk alongside with him.

A Time to Pray…
Ok, Lord, I admit that this holiday season puts me on overload. I am so sorry that my prayers don’t take precedence while I rush around for things that are not that important. Holy Spirit, breathe into my heart, soul and mind, so I kind hear the footsteps of my Savior coming to rescue my breathless running. AMEN.
